Told cha I'm from the video shooting town

Ignore and skip the parts below if you think I'm crapping :p I just love to give commentary.

Not going to elaborate more on the story. It just seems funny to me personally that they are actually touring around KKB instead of heading to the police station straight :p (which is totally not wrong since it's just a video).

First they are heading to the dam (the direction people leaving for Pahang from KKB). Perhaps for a relaxing trip first to the dam with breathtaking scenery before going to the Scotland yard?

Then they head back to the town pulak passing by the new village, which has my dad as the federal government's head of village. :p

Ohhhh they really don't know the way, but I thought the son is a local studying at those samseng schools like SMDHK or SMK Ampang Pecah :p (definitely not my school since my school's chinese are too few, and more notably, too guai (obedient and disciplined) :p , to be daring enough to challenge and beat up the Malays). But eh it seems the "local" is also pointing them the wrong way wor :p By the way, the "local" in red T-shirt is my dad's assistant head of village. And that's really his workshop/bengkel.

They have another round in KKB town first, passing by the Telekom building, instead of going straight to the police station.

It's not something else but our very own local invention - Bak Kut Teh.

KKB aka TVC Shooting Town

Perhaps not many of you have known before, KKB, particular older areas of Jalan Mat Kilau, formerly known as Stonor Street, is a favourite destination of TVC (TV Commercials), as well as TV shows and movies shooting crews. This is mainly due to the well-preserved and well-kept old shophouses (which are one of the 50 significant buildings of Selangor) and town areas, thanks partially to the fact that we're the first planned town in Malaysia in 1923, and also to the taxes from Genting Highlands (yes, about 1/3 of Genting Highlands is situated in Hulu Selangor, not just Pahang). KKB was featured in 5 or more TVCs, the first I can recall being Summit USJ's more than 10 years ago, at the indian traditional hairsaloon, where I cut my hair when I was young, to Petronas's (Merdeka TVCs if I recall correctly) at the now Yebeng shoes shop, opposite to Post Office, kids milk powder's at Sun Sun Man Cheong, the old Hainanese Kopitiam, Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs', at one of the "supermarkets" to the latest I can recall, Old Town White Coffee around the town areas. No, neither it was shot in Ipoh, nor it mentioned it was shot there.

To those who've been here before see if you can recognize any scene familiar :p

TV3 comedy show, Ah-Ha, starring Afdlin Shauki and Harith Iskandar, also featured a shop which appeared in the above video. Movie-wise, there's this relatively old malay movie called Mimpi Moon (2000), which featured 1 part of the town, as Batu Berendam, Langkawi (obviously cheating, at least to me). And also 1 old Andy Lau's movie.

It is a shame I couldn't provide more videos which I mentioned, hope this little facts do enlighten you more, about my lovely town, especially to those who are coming in the future :)

Interesting.... I didn't even know bout this even though it's opened more than half a year ago. One of the reasons i enjoy bringing people around my hometown is that it allows me to learn and re-discover more things and facts of my beloved hometown. I do strongly agree with the article i read about 5 years ago, that to cultivate younger generations' interests in Geography and History, we should start exposing them to the local ones.

Below is an email sent by a tour guide to his 14 tourists. :p

Ok this is the rough outline what we gonna do on that day

7am gather then depart.

We have 3 cars, with Darren, Daniel and Guan Meng driving. So if u guys wanna join any particular car just let the drivers know. And ya do discuss with your driver how to subsidize them some petrol money because it's not a short journey like going to sri petaling to have lunch or dinner rite? (KKB is about 80km away from Bukit Jalil) Somemore we'll need to go around after we reach.

It's a Sunday so my estimation is we'll reach there in about 1 hours 15 to 30 minutes.

So we'll reach about 8.30am, then we'll go somewhere to have breakfast first, my plan now is to go have handmade wantan mee in my neighbour town, Rasa. It's famous locally la though i don't really know how it tastes because i think most of u guys know right, i'm allergic/intolerant to eggs. Then after the breakfast we'll head to my town, KKB. I'm thinking of asking IMU whether they can let us get the keys of 1 of the houses so that we can lodge most of our luggages and stuffs there first, i'll try ask them and see, if i' going to IMU later (Friday).

Around 10am we'll head towards the waterfall, which will pass our dam, the Sungai Selangor Dam. The scenery is quite good and so do bring your cameras if u're thinking of snapping some pictures there or anywhere later in KKB. (Part of the Old Town Restaurant recent advertisement was shot here, the most notable being a big lake behind a swing on grass). Shortly after the dam, we'll reach the entrance to the waterfall. Then we'll need to trek for about 1 hour, depending on how smooth our journey gonna be, might be more, or less than the estimated time. I have to admit I've never been to the waterfall, but the trails should help, and I do hope we'll choose most if not all the trails right, though don't worry we would not get lost, we can always just turn back if we pick a wrong trail. And ya, in case I didn't tell u, we'd need to cross streams and rivers few times, bout 5-6, which the highest would be till abdomen level.

We'll spend about 1-2 hrs there at the waterfall, before heading back to our cars. WE might have picnic or slight lunch there if u guys want. The waterfall is called Sungai Chilling Waterfall, and some people say it's because of the icy cold CHILLING water. Couldn't tell u more, since i'd never been there also. Then the trek back should be relatively shorter. After the waterfall trip, we'll head south again to Ulu Yam Lama for its famous Loh Mee, the most famous food in Hulu Selangor. Again i've never tried it before because of allergy/intolerance, and despite the so-so reviews from my family members and girlfriend, I still think we should have a try.

After lunch, we'll go to the hot spring somewhere in Batang Kali, the gateway to Genting Highlands for people from the north ie Perak Penang Kedah... It's not being anywhere near to extraordinary, just until knee level, yet i think it should be a new experience for those who've never been to a hot spring before, something which is part of my childhood memory.

After hot spring, Jian Ren will head back to KL, and the rest of us will go back north to KKB to meet up with the rest going there by bus. I do have an idea though, this is all depend on u guys. I'm thinking of going to Tanjung Malim, somewhere 20km north from KKB, the border town of Perak and Selangor, divided by Sungai Bernam (something we've learned in Geography way back in secondary school, which is also 1 of the favourite questions). Why so far? For the famous Tanjung Malim Paus i love so much lo. I especially like the curry chicken paus, and i heard the kaya paus there also not bad. But really, it all depends on u guys lo, also if we've enough time la. And also u can actually get them when u're going north by PLUS, at the Tg Malim rest station.

So enough about the trip rough outline. Now it's about what u should bring, specifically for the waterfall.

1. Sport shoes, this is a must, u won't want foot ache, or even worse, have your slippers flown away by the rapid stream right? If u do "sayang" your favourite Nike Adidas New Balance or whatever brands of sport shoes so much, i'd suggest getting a cheap Power la. Just a suggestion la.

2. Some biscuits and drinking water. Or even some other food for picnicking?

3. First aid kit, this 1 no need to worry, thanks to Han Eyong who is willing to lend us his, and Jian Ren who is willing to carry it.

4. Extra pair of clothes, and leave it on the cars, since we sure be getting wet right?

5. If u bringing camera, better bring a water-proof 1, since we're crossing rivers or streams. If yours not, maybe u can consider getting water proof cap? But i really really hope we will be able to snap some pictures there.

That's all i can think for now, please do not hesitate to remind or tell if u think i miss out something. And please do ask if there's any other query. That's it for now, and hope we all will have a nice trip to KKB.

At the Karaoke

Ah Beng and his friends went into a karaoke lounge. So Ah Beng requested for the DJ to play the song "Ah Cheng Buey Ro Ti" (In Hokkien meaning Ah Cheng buys bread). The DJ told them that they only have English songs and told him to re-select another song. Ah Beng was angry and kicked up a big fuss, claiming that the DJ had insulted him. The manager had to intervene in order to calm him down. Finally, after many hours of talking, the manager managed to solve the problem when he told the DJ that the song Ah Beng had requested was actually "Unchained Melody".

Father and Mother?

Ah Beng was in an English class one day
Teacher: "Class, do you know the meaning of parents?"
Ah Beng: "Yes, teacher, it means father and mother"
Teacher: "Good. Can you give me an example?"

So he calls up Malaysian Airlines and asked , “Sir, can you please tell me how long it takes to fly from KL to Tokyo ? The airline staff replied, “Just a minute”. Ah Beng replied, “Wow, that is fast. Thank you very much. ” and hangs up the phone.

Can't believe my first post in 2 months will be something like this. That day my home's desktop got infected by some chinese spywares. I went on to install spyware doctor starter edition. It then detected 6 kinds of spywares in total of 118 infections. I came out with this 6118 and asked my parents to buy 4d for this. No one bought and it really came out in Magnum. Who doesn't want at least rm200 free out of just rm1 though it's just special prize. Feel so sorry for this. So gik sum.

Revival

After hibernating for so long (because of the procrastinating owner), this blog is finally revived again. Revival here does not promise new elements or changes to my blog, it's just because I think I should not abandon this blog anymore since I have Internet connection already.

Quite many things had happened despite the relatively dull life in IMU, during the hibernation of this blog. I went to my first ever world class badminton tournament, Malaysia Open, just 10 minutes walk away from my condo. Also I was there at Stadium Merdeka for Jay Chou's concert. The most recent was my Summative 2 test, which i didn't really do well enough to my expectation, but hopefully the result is still okay.

EoS 2 (End of Semester exam 2) is just 45 days away, yet I still went to TWO movies (L Change The World and Three Kingdoms : Resurrection of The Dragon) alone after my lecture yesterday. It was actually quite risky to rush alone to take the last LRT back to Vista (also safety-wise), but it was a good experience, though the movies are just fair for me. L is not as good as the previous 2 death note, mainly because of lack of support from the stories from manga. The enemies are inferior intellectually, and the movie is far less surprising than the previous 2.

Oh ya, I'm in the IMU Chinese Singing Competition Committee now, as the leader of programme coordinators. Since IMU Idol has copied us, so we need to come out with some new ideas. Any idea is really appreciated. And who should I invite as Guest Singer? Hmmm... Anyone?

Last Post of The Year

Tempus fugit, here we are at the closing moments of the year of 2007, verging on 2008. As a usual procrastinator, here only I am to draw a conclusion of the year. There should be no more excuse of inconvenience not to blog, yet this is only my first and also last post of the year after I got my laptop. Eliminating, or at least reducing procrastination really should be on my top priorities of the coming year.

In a nutshell the year of 2007 is an assortment of success and disappointment. I dare not to check my resolution set on the very first day of this year because I’ve failed to fulfill most of them. Amongst my uppermost goals next year are to be more healthy and successful in my studies. May the New Year be a better one, we always hope so right? Tomorrow is another better day.

Till then. Gotta go for my last lectures of the year, but the first lectures of Foundation 2. Jiayou Yiau Hoong.

A Levels Result Released

A Levels result was just released just now at 1pm Malaysian time. Thanks gods I'm lucky enough to get 3A's, although my result is nothing among my programme mates, where many of them also got 15 (3A's).

Time flies, my 2 months break has almost reached its end. Tomorrow I'm going to Vista Condominium opposite IMU (International Medical University), my next university. Hope I'll do well in IMU, if not better.

Yay finally after 41 days of boredom, hardship and angst, my last paper of 22 papers of A Levels exam is over today. Was planning to go back for good today, but the stupid and typical red tape and mismanagement as we can see and experience in most, if not all government departments and institutions have required us to stay till tomorrow to complete our clearance. Too bad I can't follow my papa to KLIA tomorrow to fetch my sister. Pity him too.

Most friends are now in Sunway for a informal dinner, something like gathering, but it's ok, in another way it enables me to save my money for the tickets of some sport events during this coming holidays. Hope I can really make it to the two events, but have to see how first la.

And to my ALM friends, if any of you really happen to read blog (which would be really an odd occasion), I've become the first to sell my books. Jealous leh? Haha at least I've saved one trouble already. And by looking at some envious faces of my friends, it makes me feel bit proud hehehe, although it's actually nothing great. To the Manipal super junior, You Bin (sorry I don't really know your name), all the best for your coming life in INTEC.

Tempus fugit. 2 years have passed so fast, it's my very last CC session at my very final night here, shall I bid farewell to INTEC! And it's time to pen off now, as blogging in CC is not cheap. Bye INTEC and my friends.

Another Short Break

I'm going qing ming (cleaning the ancestors' grave) this friday, and since there is no class tomorrow, so I'll be enjoying a four-day break hahaha.

Have calculated my unofficial trial result, and yahoo I get 15 (3 straight As). Although they are sure many out there who've got 15, I guess, it still gladdens me since it's my first, but hopefully not last 15 in INTEC. There is still long long way to go, so yiau hoong, must not stop now, go for your target in the real A Levels. Jiayou2!!!

Periuk Kera (Can someone tell me its English name?)

After 5 days lazing at home, onlining and playing FIFA 07 all the time, here only I am to write the first post of the month, when it's already right middle of the month.

Trial was okay, although I'm bit disappointed with my performance. Nothing else I can say, just wait for the result to be released la. Mid-sem break so far is quite meaningless, as aforementioned, so today I'm just here to talk about the special plants before the door of my house.

Has anyone seen periuk kera before? I think I did, but I've never seen it so near from my sight. I don't know how to describe here, just let the pictures say the words.

And just like what the books say, there are really some ants stuck in the "pig cages" (its Chinese name), just too bad my lousy camera phone not good enough to capture some pictures of them. So if anyone knows the English name for this "periuk kera", please tell me ya!

Yesterday was Valentine's day. I thought it'd be going to be a lonely and dull Valentine's (first time i felt so, was never aware of Valentine's day until last year) until Suelynn the cute and talkative (like me hehe) Korean junior asked me out for, haha not really a date la, but farewell meeting, just right before the day ended.

We chatted a lot (more than 2000 words to be omitted here), from 11.45 to 1.45am, in Cemara (supposedly guys' residential college, luckily not get caught by guard, if not I think another summon for us, although we did nothing than chatting la). I don't really know what to say to you, Suelynn. Sorry when it comes to writing I'm rather speechless. But still thanks a lot for making my Valentine's day, and also adding sparks to my life in INTEC. Hope you'll have a safe journey, and an enjoyable stint in Korea. All the best for everything in your future.

Summary of The Month

It's been aeon since I posted my post. As I mentioned in last post, I'm back to college again. International Education Centre (INTEC), MARA Technology University. College? Centre? University? Doesn't matter, here I just call it college k. As I promised to my sister, I should update my blog at least once a week, but under certain circumstances (no computer la, no Internet supply la, no time la blah blah blah... all sorts of excuses) I've put behind my blog, and only now I sit down in front of computer today in Comp Lab during my break to type a word or two. And since I've leave my blog blank for almost a month, I shall, and can only write a summary of my life and recent developments, or perhaps retrogressions is a better word to be used here, in this very first month of the year 2007.

Time flies, in a blink of eye January 2007 has come to its last day. And what happens to my resolutions? Basically I'm still working on them, just none of them attained so far. My first month was basically STUDY STUDY STUDY yet I'm not productive and disciplined enough to work according to my plan. Die la trial exam just 27 days to go, not much time left, and Chinese New Year coming. Sigh no such thing as Happy CNY this year. And sorry Sean, I can't produce the posts I mentioned in the time being.

Heard of Blue Ocean before? The essentials of the books are to teach and remind us to create a pacific blue ocean, instead of fighting others and shedding blood in the red ocean. It's not a new concept, if you can't change the environment, then change yourself, or even create a new better environment. Changing is part of the life, and changing for good sakes are definitely necessary.

Yet I still had some great moments this month. One of them was to watch how Arsenal made a great turning back to beat Manchester United 2-1, in the last minutes. This again proves impossible is nothing, we should be determined, and never say die, and who knows so-called miracles might happen. Long live Arsenal!!! Hahaha!!!

Besides that, I also watched two movies, Night At The Museum and Death Note 2, both of them in Sunway Pyramid. Night At The Museum is funny and worth the ticket, while Death Note 2 for me is less thrilling than the previous, yet I'm still satisfied with it. Glad that I didn't watch rubbish this month.

Beatrice Xu Wei Lun, is the first Chinese artiste of my age (remind me if there is any before her) to leave 3 days ago. Her departure reminds me of how unpredictable life is. Hence we should really live our lives to the fullest, so that we have less, if not no regrets at all, even if we'll leave this beautiful world in the next second.

I gotta say no no to too much of playing and procrastinations if i want to SURVIVE there, or anywhere else later in my life. There should be less talking and vows, only action conquers all.

George's Birthday

Today is 6th January 2007, also my secondary school best friend, George's 20th birthday. Hahaha George you're no longer a teenager, unlike me, still enjoying my last teenage year (I doubt whether I'll have a joyous final teenage year though) :p!!! So we decided to give him a surprise, although afterwards he said it's not surprising at all, because he's too acquainted with us and knows our "lame" (no he didn't say lame I add this word myself) tricks thoroughly. Anyway we still hope, George, you enjoyed the party just now. And, according to him, he gave us his precious "first time", don't misunderstand, I mean first time celebrating birthday with friends. Hereby I wish Suraya happy birthday in advance too, whose birthday is coming on 12th January. And thanks for the belated present Suraya!

Happy New Year

It's the first day of 2007 and here I wish everyone happy new year!!! Failure after failure in 2006 will not dampen my spirit to strive towards my targets I set for this year. Here goes some of my wishes, targets and resolutions.

3As (15 points) in Edexcel A-Levels June 2007 and then get into IMU in August (primary target).
Become more determined and disciplined.
Even happier than ever.
Healthier.
Exercise (not work out)!!!
Read more books.
Wake up in time (always a problem)!!!
Write a poem (one is already considered major success)
Better appearance.
Work more talk less.

In a nutshell, I hope I can be a better person. Hope under supervision of all I'll be able to achieve some, if not all the things I mentioned.

Farewell 2006

Time flies. In a jiffy we're already at the terminal of the year, and it seems everything that happened in last 365 days is still fresh in my mind. My life during 2006 was basically struggling for studies and handling troublesome relationships besides wasting my time for more than three months during holiday.

I failed many targets, especially academically, it's a failure thoroughly, and yet I still gain some. Overall I'm unsatisfied of the year 2006. Let's hope that we'll all have a better year ahead in 2007!!! Happy new year.

Here are some useful softwares I found when fixing my computer. I'm not paid a single cent to advertise for them just I recommend based on my experience, and also comments from sites. Use on your own risk.

Ad-Aware Personal
The most popular anti-spyware. Quite effective.

Spyware Blaster
Other anti-spywares detect and remove spywares. This useful software block high-risk sites and fend off spywares and adwares before they are installed in your computer.

WinPatrol

This software does not only anti-spyware but also provides some other useful features. You can control which programs to be on the start-up list and let your computer be ready faster after sign in.

SUPERAntiSpyware
Alternative.

Anti-Virus
Avast and AVG are two leading free anti-virus softwares with most downloads. I'm not sure which one is better but make sure you only install one of them because more than one anti-virus softwares installed might cause interference and slow down computer.

Others
Active Security Monitor (AVM)
Nice appearance and interesting scoring system showing how well the protection of your computer from 0 to 100, based on certain aspects. The highest I got is 94 try challenge me! Hehe!

Gen Disk Cleaner
Help free up hard disk space by removing some superfluous files without risk. I cleaned about 1 to 3 gigs and according to the website there is even someone get 20 gigs back!!

Winsock Fix
After deleted certain spywares or adwares you might find problem logging on Internet, or browsers showing "Page not displayed." This software should help effectively.

I shall recommend more softwares in coming post if I find any useful. That's all this time adios!!!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!!! And Happy Yuletide!!!(a word i just learnt yesterday morning)

Basically I did nothing much but talked a lot for this Christmas. Silent night I spent at my friend's house barbecuing and chatting. We asked a pastor some questions to have a better understanding about the religion.

I'm just back from another friend's house for Christmas dinner. Actually he's the son of my family doctor. I talked a lot again, as usual, from eight to one, and the doctor must has never thought that I'm so talkative, after so many times seeing me in his clinic haha.

What a dull Christmas. What a dull post.

冬至 dōng zhì

Yes it's dōng zhì again! "dōng zhì", that normally falls between 21st Dec and 23rd Dec, literally means "arrival of winter". Coinciding with the winter solstice, it is an occasion for the family to gather and celebrate the good year they have had. Tang Yuan, sweet soup of glutinous rice flour balls which is indispensable during this festival, is cooked and eaten to symbolize unity and harmony within the family.

dōng zhì, or winter solstice signifies the beginning of winter. The sun is at the Tropic of Capricorn and this results in the longest night of the year for those living in the northern hemisphere. The festival began as a farmer's festival to celebrate year-end harvest.

Here are some literal explanation about tang yuan. "Yuan" (literally meaning "round") signifies "yuan man" (complete) and Tang Yuan means "tuan yuan" (family reunion). Eating Tang Yuan is symbolic of family unity and family prosperity. For good luck, families prefer to have some pink tang yuan to mix with the white ones. Too bad this year we did not make chocolate tang yuan, yes you didn't hear it wrong, it's chocolate. Invented by my creative brother. Wanna try it? You can easily find tang yuan's recipe online, mostly posted in blogs. Till then, I wanna go and have another bowl of tang yuan. Bye!!

Library

After 5 weeks wasting my time at home without good purpose, finally I made up my mind and went to library to study. As usual my productivity was low because again I was distracted.

Okay above was just my prologue. My real point today is the use of our library, at least the one in my district. Just like my previous visits, you can count the number of staffs and visitors with your fingers. My saying is too extreme? Okay, use your toes only occasionally. The attendance is so few that there was once they could even close the library on working day because there was so-called a meeting that involved ALL staffs in Selayang. Now there are more visitors and why? Because now free Internet is provided in library, and they are not using it for right and better purposes rather than MySpace and Friendster, most of them.

It is hapless and worrying to see most people, especially the youngsters (perhaps including me regretfully), do not have the thirst for knowledge. Yes it's not necessary that people must go to library to acquire knowledge but this just displays how low-ranking knowledge is in their priority list. Knowledge is power but unfortunately people are not educated to think and gain knowledge, we are just trained to score in exam. This is not a good thing if we want to develop our country and compete with others in this globalization era.

Palace Visit

On 14th December 2006 I went to Istana Alam Shah, the palace of Sultan of Selangor in Klang to attend a simple tea party celebration in conjunction with His Majesty's 61th birthday. Haha don't misunderstand I'm not anyone big enough la to be his special guest, it was just that they invite all heads of village, including my father of course, so he decided to bring my family there to experience this kind of function.

The food was okay, but the significance of the visit is finally in 19 years of my life so far I got to step on this palace. Hope one day i'll come here again, to be titled as Datuk, or even higher titles. That will be a dream, or perhaps a target. Haha. So the followings are some photos I'd taken in the palace.

Hospital Attachment

Too bad I didn't take at any picture at hospital so this will be the only related picture, before I was going to hospital.

From 20th to 24th November (supposedly 20th and 21st only), I'd been at Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital for hospital attachment programme. As aforementioned, the attachment programme was supposedly two days only, but Sister Chandra offered to extend it to five days, each day for every department(except surgery because surgeries are usually referred to Selayang Hospital), since IMU students usually come here for 2 weeks for community posting. So i asked Puan Rita, our beloved ALM (A-Levels Medicine) Core-Person for permission, and her reply was 'definitely yes.' Then I embarked on my attachment with a brief orientation led by Sister with some Masterskills nursing students. Trail behind are my brief 'report' of my 5-day stint at Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital (HKKB).

Day 1

After the orientation I was posted at Paediatrics ward, Ward 7, under Dr. Sevugan. There were some patients, with minor illness and conditions, because major and more serious cases are referred to Selayang Hospital. So basically the patients i met there are dengue, asthma, and jaundice patients. I was told that i suffer from post-natal jaundice,which is quite common, and that day i saw how jaundice infants treated by phototherapy. They were put under blue light, with the fragile eyes protected by some kind of blue cloth. The doctor left the ward at 10am and then started our boring period before i left the hospital at 1pm. The remaining time i spent loafing around the hospital, and i was tired explaining that I'm still an A-Levels student when people called me Dr.

Day 2

Sister went to a course, and i was sent to men's ward, Ward 1 (considered as orthopedics) by another Sister. The first thing they wanted me to do was to put on my white coat/lab coat, and hey, i looked great and smart in it. Haha what a pathetic self-praising narcissistic boy/guy I am. I strolled around the ward, and guess what, i noticed, but still not so sure that time, a familiar man with a familiar name, who is actually my father's acquaintance (not friend), who visited me when i was first born. Coincidentally he's charged in that morning, which I think we're destined to meet there. He was weaker and weaker every time i see him. Another interesting case was a man who got infected and has his right shank eroded by virus till the bone could be seen. Quite disgusting and scary. I learnt quite a few things in Ward 1, and the most significant was I tried my first ever ECG (Electrocardiograph) on the former patient. Still remember the motto for the colours of wires , "traffic light and chipsmore'. And oh ya i met another old man who is already 95, but looked like 75, quite astonished when first knew his real age. Wish i could be like him to live not only long but also healthily.

I was too free, and chose to merayau (loiter) again, and when i reached women's ward, i perceived another familiar face, my primary ex-classmate. She just lost her foetus, and going to marry the following month (which is the month this post posted), so I didn't know whether to congratulate her or not, just hope that she'll live happily and healthily after this. The most troublesome and uneasy moments were when those MCA people, including my father, came to visit that old patient, because I was quite tired acting and answering all their questions. I was just not myself during the moments.

Day 3

I was transferred to Ward 5, the delivery ward, as for Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) session. There I met Dr. Azran, a cute stubby yet friendly and humourous young doctor, who taught me many things, and was never skimpy in sharing his experience with me. The patients I met there are pregnant and post-natal mothers, and of course, new born babies. It was quite surprising to see a 18-year-old, with only 134cm in height, was already having her third baby.

At 10.15am came my historical moment: the first ever labour i watched in my life after 19 years(I'm sure though many out there never watch before, and will never have chance to watch one until their death). The process was quite smooth and fast since she was already a multigravida, and this miserable world then announced another female newcomer. I am exciting enough to watch how baby was pushed out (then pulled out), followed by umbilical cord, placenta, and coagulation debris of blood and other substances, before the cut opening below the mother's vagina was stitched back using CatGut. On the other side of labour room the baby was resuscitated, bathed and injected before reunited with her mother. I thought I was lucky and satisfied to watch one labour, but in the end of the day i got to watch two more labours. How lucky I am! Even Kamal who spent 13 days in KL General Hospital hadn't got to watch one.

Mothers really sacrifice and suffer a lot, at least from what i saw and experienced, birth-giving process is the best proof, so receive my salute here, all mothers in the world!!!

Day 4
The fourth day i spent at Accident and Emergency department (A&E). Basically it was another boring day in hospital except my visit to the so-called operating theatre. As aforementioned there are few operation conducted here because we have another far more state-in-the-art hospital in Selangor not too far away from here. However I was still excited enough of getting minute compensation to watch circumcision ie the removal of prepuce. There were three circumcision operation I watched, and the conclusion I got from the operations is: the older people get, the more coward they become. While the younger boys stepped on the operation table bravely and chanted bismillah, the older boy hesitated and feared. There are even people who refused to be circumcized until the age of 14.

Apart from that, I just watched television (bawang putih bawang merah) to pass my time, because there are less accidents during school holidays. The attendants told me that A&E department will be only busy after 5pm because of a bunch of irresponsible people who want to avoid the waiting process for outer patient session for rather trifling illness such as fever and flu during day-time.

Day 5
My last day i spent at Pharmacy department. Nothing much special happened that day but I did get some knowledge and experience about the pharmacy field. Unlike the previous days, which I had not got to talk to the doctors as much, I had more chances to talk to the pharmacists. The Head of Pharmacy is very particular and concerned about her diet, while ironically I saw many of the medical staffs there are not. I guess she was in the right mood to share her experience studying pharmacy in Iraq, just right before JPA stopped sending scholars to Iraq due to the outbreak of Iran-Iraq War 1980-1988. Other things I learnt were the strict classification of medicine that can be only used by different qualification of medical staffs from nurse to consultant (but this is generally practised in government sector only, some private practitioners just don't follow the rule), and the right methods of using various kind of medicine.

So that's all my brief record of my 5-day attachment programme. In conclusion I've acquired and imbibed some useful and beneficial experience and knowledge, rather than wasting my time at home. I'm even more motivated to be a doctor in the future. The attachment is proven definitely a boon to myself.

It's Ma Birthday!!!

Yes! It was my birthday! This year, just like last year, I had my only and "official" early birthday celebration on 8th december night, together with my cousin, whose birthday falls on same month same day, at my father's hometown, Kampung Batu 12, Teluk Intan. Anyone heard of it? Haha. Never mind if you don't have any idea where the heck it is. So proven it is really a kampung(village).

Too bad my father didn't take any picture of my cute birthday cake with a Winnie the Pooh on it. Winnie the Pooh always reminds me of a lovely friend, or is it her who reminds me of Winnie the Pooh? Haha doesn't matter, but Madonna, don't tell anyone, if not I'll be dead.

It was a fruit cake, and maybe later turned into tens of chocolate cake(passed out as motion). Hehe =p. Heard it's nice but too bad I can't eat it. The reason? I'm allergy to egg. "Pity you!" "U miss so many nice food." Those are the common reactions I got after people know that I cannot eat eggs. Friends I'm OK. Life's still ok and normal without egg believe me. I've no regret since I never enjoy those delectable egg food what! For me they are poison and I'll vomit out after I eat. So why pity me? And Xiao Yi please it's not my fault not to eat but just I simply cannot eat.

Then the next day, which was yesterday was my birthday la. I didn't do anything special except my mum brought me to buy clothes, actually for Chinese New Year. Oh yeah already 19 but still follows mum but who cares I bought clothes worth of RM400. It may seem a small amount for some people, maybe even a piece of cloth can worth more than that but I've never bought so many clothes at once.

So my birthday was okay. Hope I'll have a better one next year (greed's human nature) haha!!!

Brief Prologue

Finally on today, my 19th birthday, I've taken the first step to start blogging, and hope my efforts and enthusiasm won't die out by times. I know I know, apparently I'm very outdated, now only start to blog, but I'm not following the trends actually. In fact I just want to record and express my wierd and random thoughts that bother me all the times if I don't vomit them out. Haha. People who know me quite well, or even don't need 2 know me very well will know, I'm very talkative(over-talkative and inquistive) and 'random'(who changed topics too fast while talking and let people lost in the jungle) person. So hope u all won't mind if see crappy and meaningless posts here in future(hopefully I will keep on blogging).

Why yahoo87? Most people who are acquainted with me should know why. For those who are wondering, you will have some explanation here(if you're interested to know). 87, of course, here I mean 1987, is my year of birth, and yahoo? According to Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary (2005), yahoo means (disapproving) a rude, noisy or violent person. You can see how great and significant my nickname is. And yes, I must say "thank you" to Edward Lim, who created it, and Steven See, who further popularised it. "Thank you!!!" Now in certain places i'm more known as Yahoo, my nickname, rather than my real name.

Okay. I think that's all for now. I'd better wrapped my blog up before 12am Malaysian time. So. Bye bye. And shall we meet again! Paka(russian - bye)!
